My ferret "Sir Handel" had the same thing turned into pneumonia Id get her checked out asap. we just let it go for a few days and ended up costing a small fortune to fix our little guy up!

Often pneumonia in ferrets can only be found with
x-ray. The lungs can even sound clear with pneumonia
present. When there are breathing problems we have taken
to getting an emergency appointment the same day and
insisting on x-rays.]
