Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: wildfire and a poop problem
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

thank you all for the replies and advice,

wildfire doesn't have runny poop, her poop is normal and all the red around her rear is completey gone.

she only had runny poop the first night she was here, her poops have been normal ans as far as prolasped she wasn't she was just red around her poop shoot and it too is gone.

her accidents are slowing down too. at least as far as the furniture that is.

i use newspaper for the ferrets litter boxes and have for a long long time.

also when i first got her they were feeding her harts ferret food which i took her off of right away.

i see the previous owner from time to time and he said she wasn't doing this over there,

tho he didn't know much about ferrets care , the dad did let her out to play outside the cage for a few hours, he did tell me that she got trapped inside his couch and they had to destroy the couch to save her and that she was barely breathing when they got her out.

she will still be going to the vet regaurdless tho.

[Definitely does need the vet visit. If there has been a
spinal or other nerve injury then the vet will want enforced
rest for her and steroids -- if the damage is recent
enough for them to help and hopefully my interpretation
of what you are saying indicates that it is.

Meanwhile, if there is a chance of a nerve injury then
no more climbing or wild activity for her till her vet
appointment -- keep all gentle and calm even if that
means her being in a one story cage by herself till
then -- to avoid worsening any possible injury. These
things can take a little time.

Is the vet appt tomorrow?
