**While I have seen very ill ferrets have low blood sugars without having
insulinoma, most ferrets can certainly maintain a normal blood sugar even if
fasting. Stress will actually cause an increase in blood sugar rather than
a decrease. And absolutely I have seen ferrets with insulinoma develop
normal levels on pred.

So the most likely thing is that this is an insulinomic ferret with good
control on pred.**
