I agree that it would be worthwhile to try new foods. Just because EVO
is high quality (and it certainly is) doesn't mean that all the
ingredients agree with your particular ferret. There seems to be a lot
less data out there on ferret nutrition, but other companion animal
carnivores (dogs and cats) can be "allergic" to beef, chicken, grains,
etc. Not sure "allergic" is the correct term medically, but cutting out
ingredients can make a world of difference, and I've seen it have
significant impact on digestive issues, skin allergies, lethargy, etc.
Just like with people, it seems like ferrets/dogs/cats can "develop"
these issues so that even a food that used to be great for them is no
longer working out.

Taste of the Wild uses alternative protein sources, and Natural Balance
makes "limited ingredient" diets with alternative protein sources. Both
would be in the same ballpark as EVO as far as nutritional content, and
both have grain-free varieties.

Not to cut out a search for other medical alternatives, but changing
foods is so easy and cheap to try, I think it makes sense to give it a
go.

[Moderator's Note:
We are starting to get to the point where there almost is repetition,
and certainly we are not a food/product site, so unless someone
has new health information to add we might soon start getting
posts that are just repetitive or off-topic. Later posters who are
inclined to jump on board to just say "Me, too" or "Here is what I
feed" are urged to read the FHL rules in the Files section of the
website before succumbing to that urge.]
