Hi,
I'm new to the world of ferrets, I'm babysitting my daughters ferrets which she recently purchased. They are about 6 months old. She is also new to ferrets. She had taken them with her to her summer job at a Boys Scout Camp. She ended up being way to buzy to take care of them so i'll have them until mid august. I purchased Ferrets for dummies, Which was a big help. But also reading it got me worried of all the health issued that could happened. I don't want anything happening while in my care. As i read about their diet i found my daughter wasn't feeding them right so we talked and now have slowing been changing their diet. We were using Marshal brand kibble but now we are using 8 and 1 Ultimate. I moisten with a few drops of water, they seem to like it and leaves their waste less stinky.
Couple of questions.

I noticed they have fleas, after reading the book they gave a couple of choices. What do you use and what should i avoid.

Does anyone follow the raw diet?

Thanks in advance
Nancy

[Moderator's Notes:

Those who want to discuss their diet preferences are asked to
write to Nancy directly. Diet preferences are product discussions
rather than health ones usually so WILL be rejected due to lack
of time, so instead of having to send them twice instead send
them directly to the Nancy from scratch, please. Thanks!

There is a LOT on an assortment of diet types including URLs of
groups which specifically address that topic. See:

http://ferrethealth.org/archive/

and play with it since it is easy to use. Just search using any
single box or any combo of boxes and then click open results
you want to read.

There is a lot there also on fleas. Highly suggested:
