Subject: [ferrethealth] NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY FOR SICK FERRET!!!
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Please if there is anyone out there that can help me with this problem i am having let me know, I really do not have enopugh money to take my ferret to a vet right now, but I am afraid she is going to die if this continues. Her name is Pandora, (yes she is like Pandora's box, always getting herself into trouble and being very active and just so lovable) and I have been noticing over the last week that she seems to be losing weight so last night I seperated my two ferrets (the other one is named Gizmo and is a male) to make sure she was getting enough food, I thought perhaps Gizmo was taking it all on her. She did not touch one drop of it. I also spent most of the day trying to get her to eat, I offered her some of her favorite foods, and I can't get her to eat any of it, I am even trying to force feed her baby food (as per one vets suggestion) and she is fighting it. I also tried some of the food with Gizmo, just in case maybe the taste was not palletable to them, and he
tried to take the eye dropper away from me, he liked it so much. She is also acting very lathargic, and is completely not her normal active self, probably from the lack of eating. She is also making a weird almost clucking type sound that I never heard her make until recently. I do not know what I can do, and I can not bear to watch her waste away to nothing, im have a really hard time finnancially right now, and can not afford the high vet prices, does anyone know of any kind of free clinic or any idea or anything that can help?? I'm so desperate at this moment, i dont want to lose my Pandora, I have had her for over a year now, and got her when she was only a few months old, those two love to play with each other and with me, if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

[People will be able to help with info on how to feed a
sick ferret. Also, see the separate archives and

There is no substitute for needed veterinary care.

See:

Some veterinarians will allow you to exchange labor.
