Subject: [ferrethealth] Update on Whitey part 2
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Well we went to the Vet yesterday for the third time, this was a different Vet. She suspected a partial blockage and wanted to do exploratory surgery. She said that the blood test from the other Vet, wasn't somethng she was concerned about because ferret values are different than dogs or cats. They did more blood work and the only thing she was a bit concerned about was the liver value was still up a little, but was doing better compared to the last test.

Anyway, she did the surgery last night and he got thru surgery perfectly. As of today he is doing fine, getting frisky, but he is still at the Vet and will be there until Tues. or Wed.

Here's what the surgery found, she couldn't find any blockage, but his liver was a little swollen and his lymph node was swollen. So they are doing a biopsy on the liver lymph node and stomach. He didn't have any ulcers and everything else looked great.

My prayers are that they don't find anything serious and that whatever it is can be maintained with some kind of supportive care. Please keep Whitey in your prayers. I'm not ready to lose him yet, he's only 2 years old.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers

Deanna,
Bandit and Whitey
