I rarely if ever would question what a ferret vet posts but this is
one I can't let pass:

The vets I've dealt with would disagree with you. My personal, albeit
much more limited and non-professional experience, also argues against
this. I've mainly had rescues, the majority of which had adrenal
disease at some point in their lives. Most never had a recurrence.
Some have lived for another four, five, or even six years. My Ella is
currently at four and a half years with no further problems.
