I think we need to also keep in mind that ferrets were different (genetically) 28, even 10, years ago. What was seen in your ferrets then, Sukie, may not apply the ferrets of today. My experiences come from the 25 ferrets I've had in the past 8 years, some early alter, some late alter, some "farm" ferrets, some private breeder....all from this country (US), all most likely linked genetically in some way. I do believe it all goes back to genetics.
