The article is NOT specifically on ferrets, but several aspects of new
studies on the levels of arsenic that can naturally be found in some
people's well water have the potential to perhaps be relevant to
ferret health as more becomes known.
Arsenic at levels naturally found in some private water supplied is an
endocrine disruptor and interferes with DNA repair:

Given how prone ferrets are to endocrinological tumors this may be a
topic to follow as more becomes known about it. Those effects are at
environmentally relevant levels, not higher at poisoning levels.
It is also toxic to the lungs by ingestion route rather than
inhalation and can undermine the ability to fight influenza:
