Subject: [ferrethealth] Is a rhytmic movement of the abdomen a seizure?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I wrote a post about Badger dying and included the problems with our lone ferret.

Rascal was eating his baby food since he hasn't eaten his kibble over the last few days. Last night I noticed a 'retching' type movement while he was eating. I'm pretty sure he has helicobacter ulcers so I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this symptom.

Would this be considered a seizure? I've never seen a ferret seizure--only human ones. He did this same movement after we gave him the Pepto Bismal. Well, can you blame him that crap does me the same way and I've only taken it about 3 times in my life!

Some ferret articles on the internet say they prefer Kaopectate. Do any of you prefer the one over the other? Personally I would rather take Kaopectate as I don't do the shudder and retching that the pink stuff invokes in me.

I'll contact our vet on Monday.
