IF Rascal does indeed have stomach ulcers, then he needs to be on meds to help cure them. Leaving ulcers untreated can lead to perforation of the stomach and death.
There are different protocols used by different vets, but we have had success with Amoxicillin for 2 weeks coupled with Carafate (sucralfate) and Pepcid AC for a minimum of 6 weeks. The amoxicillin reduces the excessive heliobactor that cause the ulcer, the Carafate coats and patches the ulcer(s) to help them heal and help prevent further irritation, and the Pepcid reduces acid reflux that can cause vomiting and can reduce the ferret's appetite. It sounds as if Rascal is vomiting due to the acid reflux and accompanying nausea, not as if he's having any kind of seizure, BUT he clearly needs to see a vet right away to be checked thoroughly and get the meds listed above, or similar.
The Pepcid AC is a very bland replacement for Pepto Bismol that you can do yourself. I have some on hand in our refrigerator at all times for the occasional bout of upset tummy, but we used it with great success in helping to deal with ulcers in the past. I take one 10-mg Pepcid AC tablet, dissolve it in 4.0 ml of water, and administer 0.25 - 0.40 ml as needed throughout the day, but usually around meal time to settle the stomach. Keep it in the refrigerator and mix before each use, as the dissolved tablet tends to settle on the bottom. Pepcid AC has only one active ingredient, Famotidine, which, from what I have read, has no potential side effects when used in ferrets.
