Subject: [ferrethealth] Chordoma
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Luna (age around 2-3 years old) is going for surgery Thursday to remove a chordoma from the end of her tail. She's had it for a while, but only recently has it begun to grow and get red. It's currently approximately 1 centimeter in diameter. It doesn't seem to bother her at all, but I don't want to take any chances with her injuring it while playing, so we're having the surgery done. If anyone has any helpful tips from experience with this kind of surgery, please pass them along. She goes in early in the morning and comes home later in the afternoon. I'm hoping that the vet doesn't have to remove too much of her tail.
