Sanofi-Aventis just agreed today to buy Merial in
response to the Merck and Shering Plough merger
so hopefully full attention will again go to production
quality questions for products like IMRAB 3 and hopefully
all of the meds that ferrets most need will be continued.
That sale still needs regulators' approval.
The final destination(s) of animal products involved
in the Pfizer and Wyeth merger remain(s) unclear. (Yes,
another merger different from this one but also involving
medications ferrets use.)
Most aspects of this discussion are outside the
realm of the FHL but having medications continue
is important so ferret organizations may wish to
pursue that on their own with polite encouragement.
