I live in Moncton, NB, Canada. Victor will be a year old in August. He is done his antibiotics now, and we have started him on 0.19mls of 5mg/ml of Prednisolone twice a day for two weeks, and then we're going to discuss where to go from there depending on whether or not the Pred works. I have begun to add Pro biotics into his daily diet again, stopped using fish oil, as I found out this can worsen ulcers, and am giving him the liquid Pedialyte for infants, which he hates, because it's cold as it's kept in the fridge. Has anyone used Nupro Electrolytes? I also took him into the vet this morning to have sub-q fluids, but he still seems dehydrated. I'm sure I will be bringing him in again for this soon.

He is eating a bit more now, and has gained some weight, but only in his belly. His tummy is huge and seems bloated, yet the rest of him is skin and bones, no muscle what so ever. He also seems to have lost control over his bladder. I will be feeding him as I always do and he just starts peeing on me, but doesn't seem to realize he's doing so, yet he has never used the bathroom in his bed? He is also very pale.

Thanks again everyone for your responses. Any advice at this point would be greatly appreciated.

[On what do you base the statement about
fish oil worsening ulcers? When I searched
I found the opposite: studies indicating both
protective and healing effects of fish oil on ulcers,
and improved nutrition results.

I tried to find the basis for your statement without
success.
