Subject: [ferrethealth] Deslorelin for neutering
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Having kept ferrets for 10 years and surgically neutered all of them at around 6 months of age and had 2 cases of adrenal disease, there is new research that suggests using the deslorelin implant to chemically neuter both males and females will reduce the incidence of adrenal disease.
I've taken on 2 kits this year, and am considering this method, however, I don't as yet have enough info. or know of other people having tried this to know if this is a good idea or not.
Can anyone share your views and experiences if you have done this?
Look forward to your thoughts.
Angela
