Trinny never had adrenal surgery because she's not a good candidate (older, with insulinoma and IBD as well). She's been on Lupron Depot and melatonin implants for the last 6 months, and I notice a positive difference for a few weeks when she gets her Lupron shot, but the effect seems to be getting less and less. She also never regrew any hair and is about 80% bald. I have suspected a possible malignant tumor, and had also thought about possible lymphoma, although when her lymph nodes were aspirated and looked at in the past, there has been no signs of it. Chances are good that she does have a malignancy, and unfortunately at this point, she seems to be in her last weeks with us. She had one 1.0 mg 4-month Lupron Depot shot on June 1 and another on July 1. She did okay for about 4 weeks after the second shot, but now seems to be going downhill fairly quickly again. I'm debating whether to give her another shot or not, since it's only been a little more than 2 months si
nce the first of the two. The alternative is just to try to make her happy and comfortable, and wait for the inevitable. She still loves to eat, tries to play (but is limited by lack of energy), and I was hoping that we could keep her going longer on the Lupron shots, since she has far from given up on life. During those periods when the Lupron is working she still goes out and wrestles with the big boys we have, asserting her status as Queen of the business. But when the Lupron starts wearing off I'm left wondering what next step is best for her.
