Subject: [ferrethealth] deslorelin (Suprelorin) implant
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi All,
I have a female ferret that has gone through two adrenal surgeries and neither were entirely successful as she is estremely aggressive and escept for her head is entirely bald. I would like to try a deslorelin (Suprelorin) implant but my current vet. is not knowledgeable about it and is unwilling to learn or try one. I was wondering if anyone knew of a vet in the south jersey area that is familiar with a deslorelin (Suprelorin) implant? Please email off list and thanks.
[Moderator's Note:
These currently have to be imported from Peptech and that
means that FDA importation papers must be filed. There
are things in the archives on this:
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/FHL9577
There is currently some discussion going on in the FDA
if they should allow it since the mare form (which is not
an implant that releases slowly over time) is legal in the
U.S. or if they should review more due to it being an
implant.
Mare (NON-implant) form:
Date of Approval: June 18, 1998

1-044 for the entry in the Animal Drugs @ FDA database.

Macquarie Par, New South Wales, 2113

Now you have all the info to progress by using unless Peptech
has a new mailing address in which a poster can provide that
or additional contact info.
If so, PLEASE, leave the rest of this importation info attached
so that people can find all in one place. Many thanks!]
