Using killed virus vaccines that have not
been grown in ferret tissue lines removes
all risks except for a possible vaccine
reaction (which most do not get but
precautions should be used, obviously).

A ferret can't catch distemper from killed
virus.

Be sure that any ferret vet has epi (the most
important med to give a reacting ferret) as well
as steroids, appropriate antihistamine types, etc.

It may be that ferrets who have very high titer
numbers may also be more likely to have
reactions. Because of those high titer numbers
they also are most likely to be protected.
Although I don't know of any titer studies in
Italy (apologies) in the U.S. vets can participate
in this one:

and make sure that the data sheets are completed and
sent to Dr. Ruth because if that isn't done the info is
worthless.
