Just wanted to double check your post.
Insulinoma cells can have estrogen and/or
progesterone receptors which means estrogen
or progesterone (ie adrenal glnad disease) can
stimulate the insulinoma to secrete insulin.
That is why sometimes treating the adrenal gland
disease helps with glucose control.
Likewise prolactin can stimulate the growth of insulinomas
and stimulate insulin secretion. Melatonin lowers prolactin,
so it might also help with insulinomas.
However I have not seen anything about insulinoma cells secreting
estrogen.
