I have not heard of a twisted intestine in ferrets
in my decades with them, but have in dogs so I
guess it could happen. Now, I am not sure, but
I think that in some other species there can be a
genetic aspect to that, and if so then if you are
seeing it often in your part of NZ perhaps it is from
the inbreeding of a genetic vulnerability.
