Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: rabies shot
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

its a knot on his left side between his wee wee and his ..
its been 2 weeks now and its still there vet keeps saying wait for 1 month.. i think its the rabies vac there. it has been suggested that is is lymp glad and trying to get rid of the vacine in him.
i just do not see it getting smaller so far. a few days ago he did throw up one time = he is allergic to rabies vacine and now my state requires it and he does go outside in public.

[Moderator's note:
throwing up does not always mean that a ferret is
allergic. Sometimes that is a strong immune response
rather than a reaction or can be from other causes.

Given the location does the lump feel like a bone:
cylindrical? Male ferrets have a penis bone, a baculum,
and it is in exactly the location you describe. That is
normal. It is also pretty normal, given the long lives
they have as domestic animals, for those to get broken
so it may be discontinuous.]
