I think you could look at a tick paralysis that would disapper when the tick detatches and if a blood borne parasite was introduced you would see ALL OF THE SIGNS you mentioned. It might be a long shot but I would strongly consider it.

Thanks, that was one thing we considered early on. Thing is, All my animals are indoor only, and while we do have ticks around, we have never found any in the house, or even on us after doing yard work.

However, I should know soon what this was. He took a turn for the worst, going downhill very fast today, and was euthanized this evening. He was barely alive, and there was little hope anything would have helped.

We did a necropsy, and found lesions on all the organs. There was 1 enlarged lymph node as well. Only the heart and lungs looked normal. The spleen was at the largest category, and was almost black with 2 different kinds of lesions. The liver was also swollen, and the kidney had internal bleeding. We took some bone marrow, and lesions from the kidney, spleen, and liver. Additionally, we took a piece of the heart and the esophagus (in case it was DIM - not expected, but better to be safe). All this is being sent to an excellent pathologist out in the northwest.

My vet strongly suspect lymphoma, but until we have the pathology results, we won't know for certain.

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions. This one has been very difficult, because he was so young.
