Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret running on half an adrenal gland
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Lendri is a 3 to 4 year old boy who had his left adrenal and part of
his right removed in May of this year. He was doing quite well for a
while but now is losing weight. He tested negative for ADV (CEP test)
last week. I had my vet check the electrolytes, sodium and potassium,
which were in the normal range. What other test is there to find if he
needs pred or Percortin or both?

Thanks for the help,

Carol Owens,

[Did the vet also look at the PROPORTION of those two electrolytes
to each other?

The current problem could easily be totally UNrelated to his past adrenal
disease. Have a CBC and a Chem Panel been done? Imaging of both
abdomen and chest done?
