Howdy~

Well, it could be a symptom of adrenal issues. It also could be something
as simple as blackheads. Does he have any other symptoms? I'd take him to
the vet as a precaution and have him checked out.

In our case, it turned out not to be either, but that my little guy, Tucker,
is a stress-induced hair-dropper. When he gets stressed, he goes pretty
much BALD. He's done this a few times -- most recently, when two of his
siblings were sick, and I apparently wasn't paying him as much attention as
I was them. Poor little Tuck! He is really emotionally sensitive, and now
I make certain that he gets a cuddle and some extra loving when the others
do. Once we figured it out, he regrew his coat, thicker and fluffier than
ever, in less than two weeks (we now call him "Fluffafert").

Let us know what you find out.

[Moderator's Note:

That is a very unusual cause. Another very unusual
cause which can happen is fur loss that is allergy
induced. Eri gives good advice about having a vet
check up for the two more common problems with
a ferret knowledgeable vet.]
