I agree, stress is an unusual cause of full fur loss.=A0 I had a ferret com=
e in as a rescue with a beautiful coat that the owner said lost most of her=
fur, but she grew it back and was fine.=A0 I had the vet=C2=A0do surgery=
=C2=A0based solely on history as she had no other sings, and he found 2 ver=
y large adrenal glands.
I would consider adrenal with seasonal fur regrowth as more likely a scenar=
io.=A0 I suppose a trial of lupron during the fur loss to see if regrowth b=
egins , or doing the Tennesee panel would diagnose this one.=A0 Stress is a=
lso a trigger for increased adrenal stimulation and could, I suppose in the=
ory, cause the adrenal to become enlarged ( hyperplasia) a finding in adren=
al gland disease.
For just fur on tail loss, that may be nothing- but carefully inspect the f=
ur at back end, tops of feet, behind ears, and look for thinning or loss- th=
is is then more likely adrenal gland disease.
I am currently watching one wiht just tail fur loss, but starting to think =
probably adrenal as fur is not soft as was and some thinning now at base of=
tail.=A0 So will be back to vet soon.

Howdy~
Well, it could be a symptom of adrenal issues. It also could be something
as simple as blackheads. Does he have any other symptoms? I'd take him to
the vet as a precaution and have him checked out.
In our case, it turned out not to be either, but that my little guy, Tucker=
,
is a stress-induced hair-dropper. When he gets stressed, he goes pretty
much BALD.
Let us know what you find out.
