Subject: [ferrethealth] Deslorelin implants

I have two male ferrets that were part of Dr. Robert Wagner's study for des implants. It is my understanding that the implants will only work if the adrenal issue is hormonal, not cancerous. You can direct your vets to Doc Wagner's finished study that was published in June or July's Journal of Exotic Pet Medicine.
[Most adrenal growths are hyperplasia and not malignant. For malignancies in adrenals the only way to cure that is surgery. -- Moderator]
I suspect if Tressie's post of the Peptech company's contact numbers follows suit to my communication with them, the biggest problem, if the FDA is going to allow them, is getting them.
