Subject: [ferrethealth] Hair loss and bump...
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello eveyone Im new to the group. I have had my ferret for over five years. She has always been a good eater, but will only eat dog food. From the time I got her at the pet store. Just recently I noticed that her hair is thinning along the back of her neck, and her back right before her tail. She has a bump on the inside of her food that looks almost like a blood blister? No idea where it came from but shes still eating good, and has no diarreha or anything. Hubby just got laid off so can't afford to go to vet just yet, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

[Prolonged use of dog food as the sole food
not only creates an imbalanced diet but can
cause taurine deprivation which increases the
risk of cataracts and very possibly increases the
risk of developing heart disease.

List members can discuss ways to shift diets on
the FHL, but personal food preferences is not
an FHL topic so, please, don't let that part of
the discussion devolve to "we like" or the posts
will be rejected.

Fur loss on the sacrum is typically adrenal disease
and the list members can tell you about the
surgical and medical options.

There are several possibilities for that bump.

This ferret needs to get to a ferret vet.
