I just read your post on the diarrhea. I went through the EXACT same thing. I, regretfully, lost my boy. But what I learned may help yours. I admit, I haven't read all the replies. But, has he been tested for all the parasites? Giardia, Cocci, Crypto? If so and they were all negative, what did they treat with? Did pepto bismol help? Pepto can do wonders AS LONG AS it's NOT taken with prednisone. That will cause an ulcer. If it was like my Reznor, they assumed it was probably a bug and/or parasite and they gave some meds including some heavy antibiotics. If that was the case, did it get worse like my guys did? Those antibiotics kill off the bacteria that aids in digestion in the body. Those have to supplemented for the time being while the body recoups. That can also be amplified by a switch of diet. I'd get your baby on some probiotics and a bland diet. Try the Carnivore Care or some Chicken baby food. The biggest thing to worry about is dehydration. So make sure that's good.
If all those fail, they'd likely lean towards IBD or blockage. Usually, they'll start with an Xray to check for a partial block. But the only way to confirm the IBD diagnosis is a biopsy and that's super expensive since they have to get a piece of the intestine. Those meds are rather expensive and they hate it. It seems that the diarrhea can be handled alot easier with less interference in my opinion.
Basically, my advice would be try a bland diet (remember the more liquid the food, the more liquid the poop will be) and some probiotics. Give it a week. You can also check out Azmira ( http://www.azmira.com ) . They have some great, natural digestive aids. I wish you luck!
(moderator's note: please check with your vet before adding any supplements or holistic medications in case ingredients interfere with something the ferret is already taking, etc. )
