Wow, thanks for all the replies. I'm a little overwhelmed, but I'm hoping I
can make sense of Tocho's situation and what he's on.

He was supposed to be on the amoxi and metranodazole (sp?) and pepto. The
pepto stresses him far more than the metranodazole and usually ends up with
his peeing and spitting and making stressed-out sounds. That and pepto
never did anything for his diarrhea. I chose not to use it.

The vet did not give him carafate, and since I was told to give the meds
with food I'm giving him a little bit of yogurt before the meds.

His diarrhea still comes and goes even though he's on the meds. At this
point, I was told to just wait, finish the medication, then re-assess and
try something else.

His energy level is normal, and he's silly, playful, etc. His appetite is
normal and he's not losing weight, though it's that time of year and hard to
say if he's lost a couple of ounces or something or if it's the health
issues or the usual temporary small losses that happen during shedding time,
etc. He usually plumps up well for the winter months, though. but we've
not gotten there yet. One of my kids did shed and gain some, but the others
haven't done this yet.

The diarrhea comes and goes and varies as to how bad it is. Doesn't seem to
be any rhyme or reason for it either. Changing his diet would be impossible
unless I changed all of their diets, so I'm not sure what to do about that
yet.

I will ask the vet again about checking for coccidia and ask her about the
posibility that maybe it wasn't caught on earlier testing. The others don't
have diarrhea, so if it were coccidia, would they not have it too and be
showing signs? I'm hoping this is not what it is, though.

Thanks again, everyone. I really want to get this boy back to normal again.

Ella
