Subject: [ferrethealth] Diapering a Ferret
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

This is really not health related but it IS BECAUSE of health issues so I hope you will post it so I can get some advice. Sissy is about 8 years old. He has tumor masses all over his liver. The vet says there is nothing that can really be done due to his age and she would not feel comfortable doing this type of surgery. She said he can live like this for another day or last another 6 months. He is in no pain just very very fat around his middle. He is at the point where his belly is touching the ground always. Anyways he no longer makes it to the litter box. I do not know if he just cant get to it in time or if he has no control. He is constantly bathed. He does not mind. This has been going on for about 3 months now. It is no big deal if he messes in his room I just clean it up(he and the others have their own big ferret room)but last week he just up and decided that he wants to run around the whole house with the other ferrets which he has not cared about before. We ha
ve tried to make diapers every way we can imagine but no matter what we do he just walks right out of them. Is there a company that makes a ferret diaper? Or does anyone have a suggestion as how to make one? How in the world do you keep something like that on them. It is getting the point where he just constantly scratches and tries jumping to get out of the room. It is breaking my heart to not let him out for more than just a few minutes at a time. What is worse is we JUST got new carpeting throughout the whole house. Any ideas??? Thanks for any advice
