I am curious about that statement--I don't doubt that it can be true that a diagnosis of IBD can be used as a catch-all without further diagnostics being done, but what about when a biopsy is done to confirm the diagnosis of IBD? What information exactly is the biopsy collecting? Intestinal inflammation can be confirmed through x-rays/ultrasound, so there I assume there must be additional information being collected to support a diagnosis of IBD. At least I hope I didn't put Sisiutl through a biopsy for nothing...
