But for running around free with accidents I can recommend three products:
Disposable puppy pads for those frequently used areas (cheap online at Pet Edge)

Washable waterproof fabric pads (they are not plastic lined) to protect important areas

Oxy Clean powder to rub out accident stains and odor from carpet. Just mix a bit in bottle with hot tap water, shake and spay on stained area. Wait five min and rub with wet cloth
