As a matter of fact one of my ferrets has started losing fur and another friend's ferret who also received an implant from the same batch has lost all her fur. I am going to ask my vet to check with PetTech and see if some of the implants that had expiry dates of August are losing effectiveness early.

Apparently this implant's shelf life expired in August sometime, but my vet was told it would not have an impact on the effectiveness of the med as long as it was implanted prior to expiry. I find it extremely odd that not long after the expiry date was reached, he started losing fur again.
