Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Swollen Foot - update
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

We have Moki back on prednisolone and he has not experienced any swelling since. Although we still have not identified the cause.

He had an ultrasound and ekg, and have ruled out a heart condition causing the swelling.

Any concern about the red spot in the photo as far as it being a bug bite or the beginnings of a tumor have been ruled out as the cause of the swelling.

Within a weeks time and before we had him back on the pred after checking his heart my poor boy experienced swelling in all 4 paws. Never more than one at a time, it seemed like every other day it was a different paw.

I really don't know what more to investigate at this point, and my vet isn't all the concerned. Something is causing his feet to swell.

I am leaning more towards an allergy of some type at this point, before the pred it did seem as if his feet were itchy.

[Post below included as a reminder about the case.

His temp is normal, heart sounds fine and no swelling of the lymph nodes. Our vet still feels it is an injury and sent us back home to keep an eye on, advising to call back if things change or the swelling spreads.

[The picture was soon afterward put up since it obviously was allowed
subject matter. I can't recall what the difficulty was back then, perhaps
trying it as an attachment instead of using a photo album or maybe one
of the Yahoogroups cleanups was being done at the time causing
functions to be down temporarily. What went wrong does not matter;
that the photo can be seen in the albums does. See
