You should have your vet do an aspirate of the bump. It could be a
lot of things including other kinds of tumors or a small abscess.
Your description, including the location, is classic for cryptococcus
- a fungal parasite most commonly seen in cats, but also in ferrets
and other mammals. It is treatable with the antifungal itraconazole
(surgical removal may also be needed).
No point in worrying about osteoma until you know if that is what the
lump is.
Let us know what you find out.
