Hello Rob,
If the testicle has not "dropped" at 8 months of age,
it will not "drop" in the future. The retained testicle is
likely to become a tumor with time so neutering him
is recommended. If you want him to remain intact to try
to prevent adrenal gland disease in the future, then leave the
one testicle in the scrotal sac, but remove the other retained
testicle before it becomes a problem (tumor).
