To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
A friend and member of this site recommended that I join FHL for additional guidance in treatment for my ferret Dakota. I am including all of the information I have so far.
Dakota is a seven year old neutered male. No health issues other than surgery to remove a petrified hairball from the duodenum two years ago.
Prognosis: Less than three months to live.
Treatment: Continue with prednisilone.
RECENT HISTORY
-Presented with a full hypoglycemic crash September, 2009
-Began treatment for insulinoma with 1.25 ml of prednisilone every 12 hours
-Blew coat with nothing underneath (saddle pattern on back) November, 2009
-Surgery performed December 22, 2009
SURGERY (weaned from pred prior to surgery)
-Pancreas
One large tumor removed with surrounding tissue
