It sure sounds like he has ulcers, and possibly very bad ones. If untreated, they will eventually perforate the stomach lining and kill him, probably sooner than later.
Carafate or sucralfate are needed and should be given 30 minutes prior to food and 1 hour or more apart from other meds, incl. antibiotics. These meds patch the ulcer(s) and help them heal while also lessening the painful effect of food and meds on the ulcers.
Pepcid AC can be given to reduce the acid reflux, which is probably what is causing him to paw at his mouth, a clear sign of pain. I would also guess that he's grinding his teeth, another sign of pain probably caused by acid reflux. With Pepcid AC, we take one 10-mg tablet, dissolve in 4.0 ml of water, and give 0.3 - 0.4 ml of the solution as needed. Store in the fridge, and shake before using, as the dissolved tablet tends to settle at the bottom.
Pro-biotics mixed with his food will help replenish the 'good' bacteria needed in his digestive system that are probably drastically reduced from the antibiotics. I use Forti-Flora for felines with great success, but others such as Bene-Bac or acidophilus are also good.
