Hi Barb,
I don't know about Baby Orajel but I would recommend Biotene Veterinarian Therapeutic Mouthwash. Although it says to squirt the gums and teeth, that doesn't work very well with ferrets, I dab it on my finger and gently rub it over the gums and teeth several times. I get it from my vet, and of course, it is not a substitute for dental scaling by vet but is soothing in the short term.
