Thank you! I went back to the link where I'd found those ingredients listed, and it was very misleading, but most important...wrong!

ROTF.....Patty wrote, " ...( what baby has to worry about plaque??)", that's funny on so many levels. A little FHL humor to lighten the forum up a bit is a good thing!

The benzocaine was indeed the red flag. Additionally, my concerns were that the ferret's throat and esophagus would be numbed, and functionally diminished. Therefore, a logical possibility of any water/soup/kibble being aspirated to the lungs, rather than swallowed. It's not like you can tell your ferret to spit in the cup.
