I've found two references as to the accuracy rate of the ferret adrenal panel. Note that the first article (by Dr. Williams) is a bit dated. The panel is no longer a new test, it is now run weekly and no longer takes several weeks to complete (I've personally always had results in under two weeks time) and the cost is currently $65.00 (as charged by the U of Tenn).

Bruce H. Williams, DVM

"A new blood panel is available at the Department of Endocrinology at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine which measures not only levels of serum estradiol but six other intermediates. Although the test is extremely sensitive (resulting in positive diagnosis in over 90% of cases) it is expensive and takes several weeks to complete, and should be reserved for cases in which clinical signs are marginal. "The University of Tennessee Diagnostic Lab has a panel of hormones offered to aid in diagnosis of this disease in ferrets. In 96% of ferrets with adrenal gland disease, this panel will show some abnormality."

[To get this lab price (in addition to costs like preparation and mailing) skip the intermediary lab and send directly to the TN lab.
