Another thing to consider when dissolving meds is whether it is extended
release or encapsulated for a reason. Usually if it is "scored" (a line
indention across the tablet) it can be dissolved or broken down without
losing any effects or giving too much of the med too fast. Extended release
is important for those illnesses that need full time coverage and not just a
quick fix. (insulinoma, heart disease, etc.) I'm a registered nurse
specializing in cardiac and most of our myocardial infarctions (heart
attacks) happen in the early morning hours...hence.right when the meds have
worn off.
