I find that an intriguing comment about stomachs producing more acid
in response to oils and fats.

Lipids (oils and fats) are harder to digest
than many other things and take longer to digest, with much of the
digestion of them happening in the small intestine. That is why they
do NOT work as a furball treatment because instead of snagging things
and helping them move through they instead don't snag anything and
they slow down digestion.

Too much in the way of fats and oils can produce "lipid balls", also
called birdseed stools.

Of course, if way too much of them wind up in the body that can create
a situation where it is too hard to digest stuff for the stomach and small
intestine so then diarrhea can occur, and sometimes also irritation of
organs involved in producing products used in digestion such as bile.
