I have seen positive results in the past when dividing a daily dosage of pred into 3 doses instead of 2. Also, giving smaller meals of soup more frequently throughout the day and night can help, like every 5 hours. Also, the composition of the soup may help, with higher protein being more helpful in fighting insulinoma.

Unfortunately, insulinoma is a progressive disease, and sometimes toward the end stages it can really progress quickly. When you get to the point where even high doses of meds are having little effect, then you have to consider his quality of life. It doesn't sound as if you are there yet, but it is something to prepare for.
