Hello Mary Jo,=A0=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0My ferret Oliver had his hind leg amputated=
and lived a very happy life for 4-5 years after. He was confined after sur=
gery in a hospital cage as it was drastic and he would have been in more pa=
in without his pain meds. He took sometime to heal so it would be advisable=
to keep your ferret confined. Not only will she heal faster but it will pr=
event the stitches from opening, also will aid in preventing infection.=A0=
=A0 =A0 =A0 =A0For the first few days offer chicken babyfood, it will be ea=
sier to digest and the high meat protein will help in healing, plus get nee=
ded liquid into the system. Keep her in a quiet place preferably with not m=
uch light so she can rest---Angela.
