I got an xray done yesterday and he has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart :( He is now on Lasix and Enacard. I'm starting to think that he was born with this problem because I now remember that a couple of months after i got him (he was 3 months old when i got him) he had that cough but it went away and now here he is 2 1/2 years old and that cough came back but very bad.

This is Cardiomyopathy, and it can be congenital.

BTW, when they were having us try reduced salt intake
for Ruffle it turned out to not make a difference. That
is mentioned as a hypothesis in the first link Karen
gives but it did not help her any. That was over 10 years
ago.
