Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret has cardiomyopathy...is he having side effects from the meds?

I just found out my ferret has cardiomyopathy. He is 2 1/2 years old. He started medicine on Monday Jan. 18th. I have noticed that he sometimes having diarrhea now and when he is not he has what I think could be blood in his stools (black streak in stools). He is also urinating a lot but I know it is normal because of the Lasix. He is going to the vet Saturday for a check up but I made this appointment before I knew he was having these problems.. do I need to contact my vet right away? He was prescribed 12.5 mg of Lasix but only take 1/4 of the tablet twice a day. He is also taking Enacard every 48 hours. Is what he is experiencing normal side effects of this medicine or does he need to be switched to a different medicine? Thank you.
