If it is just one node then infection in that area is a likelihood
but more than one node makes lymphoma more possible.

Ferrets also at times get salivary gland problems such as
rupture causing a mucocele. Salivary duct growths,
sialoceles usually show up elsewhere.

Hemotomas can also happen.

If it is cutaneous then there are other options.

There are probably other possibilities.
