Subject: [ferrethealth] Type/Area of Hair Loss
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello. I have a question about my 5 year old ferret, Clementine. So far,
she has had no health problems whatsoever and she seems normal energy and
to be feeling well. She goes to her vet every 6 months now for a wellness
check up and she is not due till mid-March. In just the past few days, I
have noticed that she seems now to be almost hairless on her under belly (her
lower abdomen area). It just simply feels smooth and I can tell when I
hold her and look at her that it is smoother (with less fur) than before.
She doesn't seem to have any of the typical adrenal hair loss on hind legs,
etc. I am wondering if this is simply the normal aging process, or whether
I should take her to the vet now. Any opinions? Thanks! Lisa
